The Continental® Pony truss is a highly cost-effective option for bridge spans ranging up to 80 feet. The side trusses act as the handrail system, allowing an unobstructed view with no overhead members.
Typical handrail heights (the distance from the top of the deck to the top of the chord) are either 42 inches or 54 inches. The bridge is constructed using an underhung floor beam in which the top of the floor beam is welded directly to the bottom of the bottom chord, which minimizes the top-of-deck to underside-of-steel dimension. Usually shipped in one piece for spans up to 80 feet, installation is as easy as removing the bridge from the truck and setting it in place.
