DuroMaxx® Detention and Infiltration Systems

Strong Steel-Reinforced Polyethylene with Water-Tight Joints

 
DuroMaxx LogoDetention systems are used to regulate stormwater flow through main pipelines by acting as a buffer during peak loads. DuroMaxx systems are designed to contain the water and slowly release it into the main system over a period of time. These systems are often custom made to watertight specifications in order to suit the project requirements.

DuroMaxx detention systems can incorporate a wide range of fittings such as bends, risers, bulk headed ends and inlet/outlet pipes. The systems can be custom manufactured to individual lengths in sizes and configurations that can be economically transported and assembled on site.

DuroMaxx for Stormwater Detention

DuroMaxx StormwaterDesigned to meet watertight specifications, with wide range of fittings available, DuroMaxx is an excellent choice for stormwater detention. Lightweight and easy to handle, it is easily transported and assembled on site. Available in diameters from 24” to 72”, with diameters up to 96” coming soon, the larger diameters maximize savings on per gallon storage cost.


Rainwater Harvesting for LID Designs

DuroMaxx Rainwater HarvestingDuroMaxx’s steel reinforced bell and spigot achieves a level of watertight (WT) joint performance that sets it apart from conventional pipe products and makes it a optimal choice for storing stormwater for re-use on-site.

SS Credit 3 – Brownfield Redevelopment, 1 Point

Intent – Rehabilitate damaged sites where development is complicated by environmental contamination and reduce pressure on undeveloped land.

Potential Contribution: Stormwater Detention and Conveyance Products
  • Contain runoff without leakage into contaminated soils or groundwater
  • Several options available for watertight conveyance and storage of water

SS Credit 5.1 – Site Development, Protect or Restore Habitat, 1 Point

Intent – Conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Detention and Infiltration Systems
  • Store, recharge and infiltrate stormwater belowgrade
  • Provide additional opportunity for green space

SS Credit 6.1 – Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

  • Reduce post-development peak discharge rates

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Detention Systems
  • Create water efficient landscaping by harvesting rainwater for re-use
  • Store water belowgrade or above ground using pipe or structures

WE Credit 3 – Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent – Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: WE Credit 3 – CONTECH Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • Reuse harvested rainwater for grey water applications such as toilet flushing

MR Credit 4 – Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

Potential Contribution: DuroMaxx Pipe
  • Steel reinforcing ribs have 50-80% recycled content by weight

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.
