D-2000™ Pipe

D-2000™ PipeAdvanced Design for High Structural Characteristics and Low Internal Flow Resistance

The use of thermoplastic pipe for stormwater drainage systems has gained wide acceptance—based upon performance and economic advantages when contrasted with more conventional drainage pipe materials

D-2000 PVC double-wall pipe has an advanced design, providing high structural characteristics, lower internal flow resistance, proven durability and exceptional joint integrity. D-2000 PVC pipe, available in 12” through 24” diameters, is the ideal storm sewer material with added stiffness for structural integrity, smoother interior surface for improved hydraulic performance, tight rubber-gasket joints, lighter weight, longer lengths and is corrosion resistant. When compared to corrugated HDPE drainage pipe, D-2000 offers superior performance at a competitive price.

Benefits of D-2000:

  • Allows for excellent load carrying capability and a stable wall profile, which means no local buckling and interior wall smoothness.
  • Higher effective pipe stiffness retains most of its laboratory pipe stiffness during hot, summer installations, so you don’t have to be concerned about deflection challenges and creep resistance.
  • High beam strength relative to corrugated HDPE pipe. Line and grade control is much easier to achieve.
  • 22’ long lengths mean fewer and tighter joints in the system - minimizing the opportunities for joint leakage.
  • Manning’s “n” = 0.009 provides greater hydraulic capacity when compared size for size with HDPE and RCP.
  • 12454 or 12364 Cell Classification Resin compound gives predictable long term mechanical properties so you can be highly confident that your design assumptions won’t come into question over time.
  • Watertight joints up to 10.8 psi or 15 psi per ASTM D3212. Meets much more stringent requirements of sanitary sewers for minimal additional cost to your client and eliminates maintenance related to inadequate joint tightness.

A-2000 and D-2000 for Storm Sewers

A-2000 Storm SewerIn recent years, the use of thermoplastic pipe for stormwater drainage systems has gained wide acceptance—based upon performance and economic advantages when contrasted with more conventional drainage pipe materials. However, when it comes to performance, not all thermoplastic storm sewer pipes are equal. There are distinct differences between A-2000 and D-2000 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) drainage pipes in comparison with other drainage pipes that can affect overall pipe system performance.

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.
