Reinforcement is the only way vegetated channels and slopes can stand up to stormwater. Our turf reinforcement mats (TRMs) give you two key advantages.

First, their unique fiber shape and 3-D pattern create a thick matrix of voids that trap seed, soil and water in place for quicker, thicker vegetation growth. Then, they provide additional reinforcement that doubles your vegetation’s natural erosion protection abilities.

Unlike ECBs, these flexible, 3-D reinforcement systems remain a permanent part of your application,anchoring mature plants to the soil for superior, long-term erosion resistance.

Intent – Reduce pollution from construction activities by controlling soil erosion and waterway sedimentation.

  • Allow seed stabilization until a native vegetative cover has grown and established

SS Credit 5.1 – Site Development, Protect or Restore Habitat, 1 Point

Intent – Conserve existing natural areas and restore damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity.

  • Protect newly vegetated areas
  • Provide temporary or permanent stabilization of soil and seed until native vegetation is established

SS Credit 6.1 – Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent – Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

  • Improve function and durability of landscape-based infiltration systems

MR Credit 5.1 – Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent – Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.
